Additional information on item: The focal point of the Christian Science Church Center is the Mother Church (original edifice). Completed in 1894, it is the small Romanesque building in the center of the photo. To its immediate left is the Mother Church (Extension), completed in 1906. These buildings are known also as the First Church of Christ, Scientist, in Boston, Massachusetts. Beyond the original edifice is the new 5-story Church Colonnade building and at the extreme right is the 28-story Church Administration building. Newconstruction for the Church Center was completed in 1975. Christian Science was discovered by Mary Baker Eddy in 1866. The Church of Christ, Scientist, was found in 1879.
