Boston My dear Sir, I need not tell you how fearfully wrought we were when Miss Annie was bitten by the dog, which, undoubtedly I think, was suffering from rabies. I anticipated it, and was anxious about the dog several days previous but both Miss A and Helen protested and seemed much distressed at the thought of it that I waited, much against my better judgment, until the trouble came. The strain was terrible on all of us, but especially on my wife, who has hardly recovered from it yet.
