Boston Public Library (Rare Books Department) manuscript composed in black ink on white paper. Above the salutation the number "153" is written in pencil and the month "Aug" has been crossed out and replaced with "Sept", also written in pencil. Along the head edge of the first page, "From George Thompson" is written and underlined in a different handwriting and a different shade of black ink. In the head- spine corner of the adjacent page, "G.T. Boston, Sept. 3, 186[4]" is also written in pencil.
