Letter from William Wilberforce to Amos Augustus Phelps, 1844 Nov[ember]
Description:
Wilberforce writes to Amos A. Phelps giving his permission to have his opinions argued. The manuscript writes, "the grand question is how this great will in our land may be removed; and in order to this it was supposed by the author of the articles in the Evangelist that it was important to ascertain...what the teaching and the spirit of the Bible are on the subject. The Rev. A.A. Phelps has entirely the courses of 'Wilberforce' to canvass the reasoning which has been pursued provided the Editor of the Evangelist consents."
