Description:
In this letter to unknown (possibly William Lloyd Garrison), Mary Anne Rawson asserts that she is "still alive and able to feel interested, in my retirement, in all the great things going on in the world." She discusses the death of her daughter and mentions that "my daugher had your photograph amongst her treasures and always felt such a deep interest in all the tidings of you which reached us." Rawson invites the recipient to her home, saying "it would quite cheer me", and encourages "our dear, valued friend, George Thompson," to join the visit. In the postscript, she describes her "beloved Swiss friend, Miss Ame-Droz ... [as] a true-hearted Abolitionist, - always on the right side, and having done all in her power in the case of Liberty."
