Letter from George Thompson, Manchester, [England], to John Anderson Collins, 1840 Nov[ember] 22
Description:
George Thompson writes to John Anderson Collins in regards to forwarding letters to Sir Charles and Mrs. Reed to consult them with Mr. Adams' about making possible donations to the American anti-slavery society. Miss [Elizabeth] Pease mentioned a conversation respecting Sir Charles and his "magnificent donations" to the British India Society and Thompson suggests that Collins mention "his desire to lay before him the feelings of the American Abolitionists respecting our movement, and to point out the very near and interesting relation between our cause and yours." Thompson instructs Collins at what point he can mention "your event of funds."
