Letter from George Bourne, New York, [New York], to William Lloyd Garrison, 1833 March 20
Description:
George Bourne writes to William Lloyd Garrison offering to write "a weekly essay to be called The Firebrand against the Ecclesiastical Man Stealers; a weekly essay against the Negro Shippers; one or two short scraps about any thing, and every thing, and a full length editorial article upon any topic" for the Liberator during Garrison's absence. Bourne adds that Garrison's letters will give him further "materials for disquisition and annotation." He then asks Garrison to send him his "two orations delivered in Boston" and sends to Garrison three articles to include in the Liberator. Before ending the letter, Bourne tells him that his "directions will now regulate" all of his work with the Liberator.
