Letter from O.A. Bowe, Herkimer, New York, to Maria Weston Chapman, 1843 Dec[ember] 22
Description:
O.A. Bowe writes to Maria Weston Chapman in regards to reminder her of the "half-way promise" to send him "an original article, in verse" for his paper. Mr. [Wendell] Phillips has done a good work in Utica, where he has been attending and addressing the Central New York anti-slavery society. In spite of a good attendance, "all the churches of the city, save or or two small, inconvenient buildings, had been barred against Freedom, throughout." Abby Kelley and Stephen S. Foster have participated in the discussions.
