Francis Jackson writes to Theodore Parker in regards to finding a list of 230 fugitive slave names "which have been assisted by the vigilance committee since the passage of the Fugitive BIll, nearly all of whom have left the City for Canada, the British Dominions & elsewhere." He writes that their funds have been applied to support the fugitive slaves in Canada during the severe winters of that region. He writes that contributors have donated to Churches for the cause to benefit the fugitive slave. He mentions Mr. Caswell's efforts.
