Samuel Joseph May writes William Lloyd Garrison concerning the preparations being made for their celebration of the "Rescue of Jerry" to be held on October 1st. May states that they have secured a meeting hall to hold 2000, and that they have enlisted the "musical men and women" of the movement to provide their aid. May writes that the final details to arrange concern speakers for the meeting, and beseeches Garrison to agree to join them for the occassion as a speaker. May states that he has already written Wendell Phillips concerning the matter, and that he will write Theodore Parker shortly. May adds his hopes to additionally see Garrison at the Women's Rights Convention.
