Oliver Johnson announces to William Lloyd Garrison that he has resolved to accept the offer from the Massachusetts Anti-Slavery Society's Executive Committee (to return to New York to resume his duties at the "National Anti-Slavery Standard"), and that he has written Edmund Quincy to this end. Johnson states that he will take some time to visit Joseph Dugdale and recuperate his improving health further prior to making for New York.
