Building technique
Item Information
- Title:
- Building technique
- Description:
-
By 1955, the new dormitory was well under way. The special building technique required entire floors to be cast in units, then raised and attached to steel beams. One floor unexpectedly collapsed during the process. Though time was lost and finances tight, the building was completed in 1956 and dedicated to Louis E. Lenheim, then president of the Atlantic Union Conference.
