Letter from Annie Sullivan to Michael Anagnos, Nov. 16, 1887 (pp. 2 & 3 of 4)
Description:
... We think the fac-similes excellent. Helen's letter to her mother was written August 12th. My dear Mr. Anagnos, how shall I ever thank you for the trouble and expense you are taking to make my pupil's progress known. I feel deeply in debted to you for the many kindnesses I have received at your hand. I cannot tell what a help your sympathy and interest have been to me during the months that have past. If I had not been certain of both I doubt if November had found me at my post. The thought that you were pleased with my efforts, has given me courage and patience and sometimes I have need both. But I will not try to express the love and gratitude which I feel. I think, I shall be more contented here now, than I have been for sometime. A very beautiful lady and her husband have come here from Kentucky...
