William Lloyd Garrison arrived in Edinburgh with George Thompson, Nathaniel P. Rogers, and Charles L. Remond. Garrison mentions the sudden death of Mrs. Collins. He describes the temperance meeting at Exeter Hall and a speech by Daniel O'Connell. He tells of a similar meeting at Edinburgh at which William Lloyd Garrison, George Thompson, Nathaniel P. Rogers, and Charles L. Remond spoke. A public breakfast is to be held for them. Garrison likes Scotland better than England. Garrison comments on the secessionists from the old anti-slavery platform at home. Garrison also mentions the birth of Gertrude Chapman.
