Letter from John Telemachus Hilton, Bangor, [Maine], to William Lloyd Garrison, Aug. 21st, 1836
Description:
John Telemachus Hilton writes to William Lloyd Garrison: "And blessed be the God of mercy and truth who has made you willing and able to perform the great work of righteousness, which he has given you to do." Hilton is very much pleased by the conversion of James Gillespie Birney to the anti-slavery cause. He thinks that there has been "an increase of zeal" in favor of the anti-slavery cause in Bangor, Maine.
