Letter from Wendell Phillips, [Boston?], to Samuel May, Sept. 19, '64
Description:
Phillips discusses Abraham Lincoln and George Brinton McClellan. He says "as for AL and Mac I'd cut off both hands before unnecessarily doing anything to elect Mac and one hand before doing the same for Lincoln." Phillips says he still holds to the old anti-slavery platform no matter what the other abolitionists do.
