View of the main office building for the New Home Sewing Machine Company located on South Main St. From 1865 the company manufactured machines under various names i.e. Gold Medal, Home and New Home. The business was purchased by Consolidated Industries and moved to Rockford, Illinois in 1928. The New Home sewing machine is currently manufactured in Japan by Janome.
