Image caption: The house in Roxbury, Mass (as it now stands, August 1840) in which General Joseph Warren was born in the year 1741. He was one of the most ardent, active and illustrious patriots of the Revolution, elected President of the provincial Congress in April 1775 and appointed a Major General a few days previous to the Battle of Bunker Hill, in which he gloriously fell, contending for the liberties and independence of his country.
