Letter from Amos Augustus Phelps, Boston, to James Gillespie Birney, Jan 29. 1840
Description:
Amos A. Phelps writes to James Gillespie Birney regarding a deposit of money made in the Suffolk Bank in Boston, which Mrs. [Wisner?] can retrieve at Andover. He then asks Birney “what the status quo of your committee is since the meeting & what you intend to do.” Phelps says the account on the Emancipator is hard to decipher. He asks for Birney’s “interpretation.”
