Letter from Alfred T. Lilly, Florence, [Northampton], Mass., to William Lloyd Garrison, Sept[ember] 12 1854
Description:
Alfred T. Lilly writes William Lloyd Garrison announcing the arrival of Rev. Thomas H. Jones, a fugitive slave, who has requested that Lilly forward to Garrison's attention a copy of the August 30th edition of the Morning Journal & Courier, published in New Haven, with the desire that Garrison should include the article signed by George H. Washington in the upcoming Liberator. Lilly asserts that the article published by Washington was intended to injure Jones, and is highly slanderous.
