In this letter to Amos A. Phelps, Alanson St. Clair says he will raise the money necessary if Phelps will accept the general agency (of the Massachusetts Abolition Society), although the executive committee will have to make the appropriation. He then goes on discussing raising funds for the organization. Finally, he discusses politics and his resolve to support Birney.
