Letter from George Shepard, Brunswick, to Amos Augustus Phelps, Sept 5. 1833
Description:
In this letter to Amos A. Phelps, George Shepard gives the names of ministers in his area who are willing to sign the paper on slavery, and further discusses plans for securing more names. Stating that some existing prejudice against the New England Anti-Slavery Society keeps some ministers from signing papers, he urges the society to employee an agent who can visit towns and work on ministers.
