Text on item: Old Aspinwall house on Aspinwall Avenue, Brookline as[?] it[?] was before 1863 when the great elm was blown down. The house was built in or about 1660 by Peter Aspinwall who came from Joseph[?] Park near Liverpool England in 1630, settled first in Dorchester - bought his farm on which he built this house, in 1650. It has been owned by one of his descendants ever since, and is now (Feb. 1890) owned by Wm. Aspinwall. The figures are as follows: on the left, Wm. Aspinwall, next to him Mary Aspinwall, his only daughter - on the right Amos Snow, who, with his wife and children, occupied the house for several years.
