The word "we" seemed relevant for the artists to illustrate the efforts Emma Gonzalez made to align herself with communities after the school shooting at Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School in Parkland Florida. The piece takes the form of a large letter "W," and two letter "Es" that sit on top of the "W." One "E" is for everybody and the other "E" is for Emma. The "W" supports the two "Es." Contemporary corrugated plastic was selected for its resilience and familiarity. The channels in the plastic are metaphors for gun barrels, vessels that represent Emma’s classmates that were shot, and pipelines for discourse.
