Prior to conservation in 2018, all leaves tipped in to a 19th-century album compiled by Robert C. Winthrop. The album also contains two engravings and a photographic portrait of John Winthrop, a four-page hand-written introduction by Robert C. Winthrop, and two excerpts from Robert C. Winthrop's "Life and letters of John Winthrop."
Each leaf foldered individually and housed in a tan cloth box together with previous binding.
Including the title page and unnumbered pages (listed below in brackets), the pagination of the manuscript is: [4], 12, [4], 13-18; [10]; [4]. According to a contemporary note in John Winthrop's hand, the second sequence of four unnumbered pages is meant to be interpolated between numbered pages 13 and 14. A cancel slip is tipped on to page 4. Signed twice by John Winthrop on p. [10].
