A Lancaster resident from 1929 until her death, Rochelle Philemon Kilgore (1887-1993) lived to be almost 106 years of age. This English professor jointed the staff at Atlantic Union College in 1936. After retiring in 1960, she stayed on campus, mentoring students and actively participating in alumni affairs. She was also a member of the Lancaster Historical Commission for many years.
