Description:
Robert Purvis writes to William Lloyd Garrison asking him to submit a letter about the "recent political outrages to which the 'Colored' people of the South have been subjected." Purvis explains that this letter would then be published with the proceedings of an upcoming meeting to be held in Washington, D.C.. He tells Garrison that if his health permits him to write this letter, "it will doubtless have a powerful influence whereon the public mind."
