Description:
Mary M. Webster writes to William Lloyd Garrison to thank him "for living for the dawn of a new birthday," (Garrison's seventieth birthday). Webster discusses the importance of the number 7 in "the New Church" and offers some lines of poetry for the occassion. She also mentions sending him "a wrap of soft flannel" for him to cover his wife's shoulders, stating she "much enjoyed the privilege of the simple sewing."

Boston Public Library (Rare Books Department) manuscript composed in ink on blue paper with an embossed letter "W" in the head- spine corner of the first page. Along the head edge of pages 1-4, the page number has been recorded in pencil but on the fifth page (second leaf), the number "5" is written in ink. On the tail edge of the first and fifth pages, the phrase "V38, P38" has also been recorded in pencil.
