Description:
Mary Rice writes to William Lloyd Garrison expressing her gratitute for the Liberator and and sending him twenty dollars [not included] "as a thanks offering." She tells Garrison she has "been pefectly delighted with the course of the Liberator for the four years past, for its standing loyally for the Administration and Government, and especially for our dearly beloved Chief Magistrate, Abraham Lincoln."

Boston Public Library (Rare Books Department) manuscript composed on lined paper with an embossed logo in the head- spine corner of an octagon containing a building and the words "... Porter Congress". Below the salutation, the number "81" is written in pencil. There is a small tear, approximately 1cm long, extending from the spine edge about 8 lines up from the tail edge of the page. On the second page, there are number of brown spots by the signature.
