Description:
Mary Rice writes to William Lloyd Garrison telling him she received his acknowledgement and she "was glad [and] sorry." Rice explains to Garrison that she thought the twenty dollars she sent him was "so small a sum" and assures him that she does not need the money. Rice declares she is "as rich as I wish to be on my own account [and] I would not exchange my situation with any human being."
