Description:
James Richardson, the minister of the "First Independent Society of Groveland Mass." writes to William Lloyd Garrison inviting him to address his congregation next Sunday, September 11th. He asks Garrison "to visit my public ... and have their ears once again Thrilled and their hearts quickened by the music of your speech." If he is not able to "accede to this general, earnest desire" of his parishoners, Richardson asks Garrison to send "some worthy representation" such as Wendell Phillips or Abby Kelly Foster in his place.
