Letter from Henry Bush, Rochester, to William Lloyd Garrison, 1849 Feb[ruar]y 3
Description:
In this letter to William Lloyd Garrison, Henry Bush encloses his reply (not included) to Frederick Douglass' report of the Annual Meeting of the Western N.Y. Anti-Slavery Society, which he "should be glad to have published in the Liberator". Bush claims that "Mr. Douglass made an attack on me as an individual and also upon the Society which were not true and tend much against my good name." He tells Garrison that while Douglass agreed to correct anything that was untrue, he only published part of Bush's article as he was "not looking to offend the readers of the North Star with my article."
