Description:
In this letter to William Lloyd Garrison, Arthur Robinson requests to be a subscriber to the Liberator and asks Garrison how to send him the money and "in what manner can I serve you in this city?" Robinson identifies himself as "a believer in what the bible purports to be - the Confession of faith ..." and "hope[s] the Liberator does not, nor will, disseminate infidel opinions." Robinson then asks Garrison about some resolutions Garrison offered at a bible convention, asking him if he believes in "the New [Testa]ment account of Jesus Christ ...[?]" Robinson signs the letter, "Arthur Robinson Printer. Memphis, Tenn."

Boston Public Library (Rare Books Department) manuscript composed in black ink on blue paper with a embossed square logo in the head- spine corner. A checkmark has been drawn on top of the logo in pencil, while just above the salutation the number "219" is written in pencil. In the tail- spine corner, the number "97" has been written in pencil. The leaf has been repaired but the writing is no longer visible along the spine edge extending about 1-2 cm into the page.
