Letter from John Turner, 70 Dover St[reet], to William Lloyd Garrison and Eliza Helen Garrison, [18]60 Oct[ober] 15th
Description:
In this letter addressed to "Mr. & Mrs. Garrison," John Turner Sargent invites the entire Garrison family to his house the following evening to "see the great Torch light procession of the Republicans. It will amuse the children at any rate." Sargent also requests Garrison invite "Phillips, the Wallcutts, Heywood, &c&c, any and all the good antislavery friends you may happen to see." Sargent then discusses some Republican party mottoes and gives more instructions to the Garrisons about what time would be best for them to arrive.
