Description:
Gerrit Smith writes to William Lloyd Garrison thanking him for "the beautiful & affectionate letter" and "likeness in it of your dear Fanny [which] is excellent & we prize it highly." Smith apologizes for not spending more time with Garrison and his family while in Boston and tells him his wife "was sick nearly all the time she was in Boston". He remarks on Garrison's last letter to him and his call to "Remember England", telling Garrison that "if any American Abolitionist visits England it must, I think be you."
