Description:
Gerrit Smith writes to William Lloyd Garrison wishing him "A merry Christmas to you & yours!" Smith then discusses the last issue of the Liberator and mentions going to "Montreal to be with dear [Joshua Reed] Giddings in his trial." He tells Garrison that while he "immediately wrote out" his work his printer has not been able to print it and he will send it to Garrison in a few days.
