Gerrit Smith writes to William Lloyd Garrison saying that he received Garrison's letter of the 22nd and he will send his carriage for him on the agreed day, unless he hears that the plans change. Smith says he expects to be home for several weeks to receive Garrison.

Boston Public Library (Rare Books Department) manuscript composed in black ink on white, lined paper with an embossed logo in the head- spine corner of each page containing the words, "Carson's Congress". Along the spine edge, above the second line of the letter, the number "140" is written in pencil, while in the tail- spine corner, "V33, P83A" is also written in pencil.
