Letter from James Stansfeld, Thurloe Square, [London, England], to William Lloyd Garrison, 1867 June 19
Description:
James Stansfeld writes to William Lloyd Garrison saying that while he may not remember him, "my wife you will remember as Caroline Ashurst." He writes that he and his wife tried to visit Garrison but he was out, and so he recommends that Garrison come to visit him. Stansfeld also says that since he heard from Mr. [Frederick William] Chesson that Garrison wanted [Giuseppe] Mazzini's address, Stansfeld suggests that he comes to his home and then he "will conduct you to him." He invites Garrison to dinner the following Saturday evening and says "I don't know what members of your family you may have with you, but we should hope, of course, to see them with you."
