Letter from Jesse Stedman, Springfield, V[ermon]t, to William Lloyd Garrison, [18]63 May 16
Description:
Jesse Stedman writes to William Lloyd Garrison about "a communication for the Liberator" which, as it did not appear in the latest issue, he assumes was rejected. Stedman tells Garrison that, "I shall never be offended at the rejection of any of my scribblings" because he knows Garrison's "liberality in giving all a hearing and the steadfast aim in your life to serve the great cause of human liberty." He also mentions he would like to attend "the anniversaries" at the end of the month but "the expense and business calls at home forbid it."
