Description:
Bayard Taylor writes to William Lloyd Garrison informing him that "'Patterson & Co.' of Indianapolis are bankrupt and have suspended their business - whatever it was." Taylor explains that he was not notified of their bankruptcy this caused him to "lose many opportunities ... and I thought that they may have treated you in the same way." He laments that "the beautiful barn and out-buildings I intended to have erected with the money, thus tumble down before they are built."

Boston Public Library (Rare Books Department) manuscript composed in black ink on white paper. Under the salutation, the number "128" is written in pencil.
The folder contains an envelope addressed to "Wm Lloyd Garrison, Esq. Boston, Mass." "B.T." is also written in the tail- spine corner of the envelope and under the address information, "Bayard Taylor." is written and underlined in pencil.
