Description:
Charles Turner Torrey writes to Amos A. Phelps about his financial difficulties, stating that "my income is now reduced to about $11 a week-while it costs me at least $5.50 here, to live, pay postage etc." He mentions that he wrote to the Puritan proposing to write them for the rest of the Session at $3 a neck and asks Phelps to call upon them and discuss the matter as a favor to him.
