Charles Turnery Torrey writes a private letter to Amos A. Phelps in anger about an article written titled "Mr. Torrey's case" signed "Norfolk" in the Emancipator on July 17th, 1844 condemning him. He requests Amos to ask Mr. Leavitt not to publish "any more such scoundrelly articles."
