Description:
In this letter to William Lloyd Garrison, George Thompson offers his enclosed remarks "upon the prospects of our country with regard to a future supply of cotton" for insertion in the Liberator. He tells Garrison he addressed a "very crowded meeting" on the subject and says that the issue is "bearing upon the antislavery question you will understand." He also shares his excitement to come to Boston next month and asks Garrison to "have some conversation with Miss Weston & Mrs. Chapman about me."

Boston Public Library (Rare Books Department) manuscript composed in black ink on blue paper. Next to the salutation, "1863" is written in pencil. Above the second line of the letter, "161" is written in pencil, while under the last line of the first page, "91" is also written in pencil. On verso, along the tail edge, "1863" has been added in pencil after the date "Dec. 4."
