Letter from Elizur Wright, New York, to Amos Augustus Phelps, 1834 Jan[uary] 16
Description:
Elizur Wright Jr. writes to Amos A. Phelps regarding executive committee of the Anti-Slavery Society unanimously appointing Phelps as a permanent agent "to be paid a salary of $1000 per annual besides your traveling expenses." He writes, "I do trust, good brother, you will regard this as a call of the Savior to this long neglected portion of his vineyard, unless you can direct the com. to some one whose services may be had, who will do the work better. Where will you find the man?"
