Letter from Richard Davis Webb, Dublin, [Ireland], to William Lloyd Garrison, 1851 March 26
Description:
Richard Davis Webb writes to William Lloyd Garrison notifying him that this letter "will be handed to you by an old and dear friend[,] Mary Shackleton who is going to join her relation ... in Ohio." Webb reminds Garrison that he, Garrison, Shackleton, and H.C. Wright all took tea together in Liverpool during his last visit. He asks Garrison "to show her any friendly attention", describing her as a "cheerful, bright body whom I have known for more than 30 years, & for whom I have a great affection and regard." He also advises "that the abolitionists should try and secure Joseph Barker's regard and cooperation." In the postscript, he writes that his wife, Hannah, sends her love.
