Letter from Richard Davis Webb, Greenfield, Kilgobbin, Co[unty] Dublin, [Ireland], to William Lloyd Garrison, 1859 Dec[ember] 15
Description:
Richard Davis Webb writes to William Lloyd Garrison about the case of "John Wilson", who came to Webb with a letter from Garrison explaining "his sad story." Webb says "his case is now very much worse than when he left you", describing how he "lost the use of his right arm from the elbow down, by paralysis" and how Webb's wife and daughter are now taking care of him. He believes the mans condition to be incurable but describes his "unhappy circumstances" and his consultations with doctors. Before closing the letter, he tells Garrison "I need not profess how welcome you will be here."
