Letter from James Underdue, Philadelphia, Penn[sylvani]a, to William Lloyd Garrison, 1868 Nov[ember] 27th
Description:
James Underdue writes to William Lloyd Garrison sending him "the proceeding of our late convention at Williamsport P[ennsylvani]a" (not included). Underdue not only shares his personal gratitude to Garrison but explains that the convention and its proceedings were "appreciative evidence of the sentiments of the People of Pennsylvania in regard to the course you have persued [sic] for more than thirty years." In the postscript, he adds that the "Address and Memorial" were written by "W[illia]m D. Forten son of the late lamented James Forten of Phila[delphia]."
