Letter from Nathaniel Peabody Rogers, Concord, [New Hampshire], to William Lloyd Garrison, [18]41 July 4
Description:
In this unsigned (possibly fragment of a) letter to William Lloyd Garrison, Nathaniel Peabody Rogers sends him "a package or two ... for the other side of the water", requesting Garrison to foward the packages to his friends in Europe. Rogers says he is looking forward to hearing Garrison "tomorrow evening at the Marlborough" and outlines his plans for the following days. He also comments on the National [Anti-Slavery] Standard, calling it "ably executed & beautifully written, but it is not worklike enough for my fancy." He then describes a letter he received that mentions Harriet Martineau's book, "The Hour and the Man", and he encourages Garrison to "say something of that work for Harriet's sake."
