In this letter to William Lloyd Garrison, Henry Clarke Wright discusses his lecture tour, covering such topics as "Equality before God, the Rights of Man, the Sacredness of Life, Reverence for Human Beings as the only safeguard of Rights, &c." He then mentions his plans to attend a "Radical Peace Convention" in Providence, Rhode Island, and declares that "Die rather than Kill - Good for Evil! this is the watchword of the movement." Wright also notes the growing opposition to equal rights for former slaves and comments that "In Connecticut, the sympathy with the South & against the Negro & equality is widespead & active." He also states his desire to see Garrison and his family and asks if he can visit them at their home the following week.
