Robert Dale Owen writes to William Lloyd Garrison sending him "a pamphlet now very rare if not altogether out of print," that belonged to his father, Robert Owen. He tells Garrison that "Though differing on theoretical subjects, we may, I trust, regard each other as fellow-laborers in the great vineyard of human improvement."
